[VII.] What iz a rape kit?

When a sexual assault or rape occurs, the victim/survivor needs to be examined for any essential evidence in finding and apprehending the party involved that committed the crime. In the United States, there iz a special examination that iz used in examining the victim to get the needed evidence. This is referred to as a rape kit.

A rape kit iz a set of items used by medical personnel for gathering and preserving physical evidence following a sexual assault which can be used in criminal proceedings. Sexual assault exam kits are now available to those victims anonymously. This allows the victim to have hair, semen or other samples from the perpetrator. Known as a "Jane Doe Kit," this is performed at no charge and without the requirement to notify authorities. From this point forward, it iz up to the victim to press charges [1].
